Why is AC wifi doing this

I have two identical OpenWRT routers, I copied the config from the first and changed then name and wifi networks, one AC and one N.

When I look for a wifi on my iPhone the AC wifi I created on OpenWRT does not show for about 5 to 10 seconds, the N shows immediately.

I used to just put up with this but when I created the identical OpenWRT and restored the backup of the first etc, I noticed the AC for the second router shows up immediately,

I can't think of any option I have not kept identical but if there was one, what might it be?

The goal is for me to find the setting in the first router to make the AC Wifi show up straight away.

you didn't specify what type of routers. Anyway, there could be a number of factor for this, one could be if one of your routers is using the upper bands in the 5GHz or you are running 6 GHz the APs on that particular router could take quite a while to be discovered by the client. Also could be signal issues as well.

A case in point: I had configured one of my routers in the high bands and for 160 MHz bandwidth and it took about 2-3 mins to be discovered by my Samsung mobile. My notebook could never discover it. Needless t say I don't bother with 160 MHz in the high bands and prefer to run at 40/80 in the mid bands where it's not so congested and quickly discovered.

We need to see the configs -- the problem description is just too vague without those details.

Are both routers running at the same time? How are they connected to each other? Is one the main router and the other a dumb AP? or both running as dumb APs?

For each router, please copy the output of the following commands and post it here using the "Preformatted text </> " button:

sorry did not have notifications on so did not see your answer. After about a month of usage the 2nd OpenWrt started to exhibit the same behaviour, where the AC wifi does not show up for 10+ seconds after all the other wifi's. I have not changed anything on that 2nd router. Maybe it is an Apple iPhone thing.

Try updating/rebooting your iPhone please.

You still haven't posted your config... start with one device and we can look at the other later.
