Why do you need forwarding in the settings in the Firewall?

Hi !
If you put drop forwarding then what will not work ?
Will DHCP cache DNS requests work ?

Luci - Firewall - I set drop to Forwarding and nothing changed, how it worked, everything works, the question is why is it enabled by default in lan wan?

Are you referring to the drop down selections in Luci? If so, they relate to forwarding traffic between different interfaces within the zone. Not to forwarding between zones, e.g. LAN to WAN.
