Which device to buy but has to be available in EU for at least next 12 months?

Hi, I'm looking for some mid range devices (single or dual radio, 2x2 mimo) that have a good chance to be available in EU during next 12 months.

I'm not looking for lowers possible price (15€) but devices even around 50-60€ ($60-$70) are in good budget range for me. Most important is that these devices have a good chance of being available in EU for at least 12 or more months.

I previously bought TP-LINK devices but seams that they are now changing models just too often.

Now I remebered that GL-iNet could be a good option... any other ideas guys/galls?

mt7621 or ipq40xx might (almost) match your budget, devices like the Xiaomi mir3g (mt7621) or the AVM Fritz!Box 4040 or the ZyXEL nbg6617 (both ipq4018); mt7621 might be a little faster in terms of pure routing speed, ipq40xx should offer a faster CPU (SQM, VPN, etc.).

Don't buy Xiaomi 3G if you need to use 2.4 GHz wifi. It is only stable with 5 GHz. Avoid other routers that use mt7603en as well.

Seams like MikroTik hAP ac lite would be a good option. Has anyone already tried OpenWrt with this device? With stock firmware people are giving it glowing reviews.

Yes I've just installed 18.06.01 on a hAP ac lite, and it seems to be working just fine, network, wireless are ok, haven't had any problems so far.

I mostly followed this guide:

I used 'openwrt-18.06.1-ar71xx-mikrotik-rb-nor-flash-16M-ac...' files, making it to connect to TFTP was a little tricky, exact steps were setting routerboard options as the guide says, rebooting from menu, and press reset button upon reboot until the LED stops blinking.

If you're using Windows I couldn't make TFTP work in Windows, and had to boot my computer using a live Ubuntu usb to be able to run dnsmasq.

I totally agree.

The availability of the rt2x00 driver has made me not use the 2.4Ghz WIFI network for half a year.:sob:
