Where are hardware version numbers found? (EA6350v3)

I found a used LINKSYS EA6350 in the classifieds near me. The list of supported hardware says that this model is supported for v3 (civic). I'd like ask the seller what version they have. Will the version be found on the specification label on the outside of the unit, or would the seller have to open up and look at the circuit board? In other words, where do ask them to look?

Taking a radon offer on ebay for example:

The FCC-, IC- and model number on the model plate on the back should clearly say EA6350v3 - it's not necessarily clearly marked on the packaging (there you might find it as part of the EAN numbers/ barcodes on the small side of the packaging - but this is unreliable and not necessarily present).
