I'm in the process of setting up a Cat 16 router using a Raspberry Pi. Currently I'm using a L860-GL-16 Cat 16 modem with two antennas I swiped from a GL-X750 (Spitz) router. I should be using four antennas to maximize the capabilities of the modem.
My question is, what omni-directional 4G antennas do you recommend?
My budget is $50 max.
I was looking at these ones, what are you thoughts on them?
So I ended up buying a pair of Proxicast paddle antennas, and a pair of cheap "Bingfu" paddle antennas. I planned on seeing how they compared.
However, where I am now (this is a setup that will be moved around), I only get 50-60% signal strength, and I get very slow speeds (2-10 Mbps down, and 2/10 Mbps up). There isn't a noticeable difference between the three pairs of antennas. Anyways, I plan on testing them in a new location as well.
Likely your antennas are not detected. They should unleash other bands in nearby tower and be able to select another less used/more capable band. Also use some tower map and place your router by the window in tower side in upper floor.
