WDS, LAN as DHCP Client

I would like to set up a small GL-MT1300 Router to be a Client WDS in my home network.

The main router is a Turris Omnia 2020 running as Access Point WDS.

The question I have is whether there are any known issues if I were to configure the LAN interface to run as a DHCP client rather than assign a static IP as suggested at [OpenWrt Wiki] Wireless network bridge (wireless repeater). See the section "The Repeater".

Thanks in advance!

Only issue I can think of is the risc of not being able to reach the repeater if the main router is down.
