Wan Port missing 18.06 TP-Link tl-wr840n

Good day!

I found an old TP-Link TL-WR840N on our storage and flashed openwrt on it, I know this is 4/32 but i will just use it as a temporary managed switch ,

but i cannot find how to make use of the WAN port as LAN Port it only displays only 4 ports where there is actually 5

where can i untagged the WAN port, sorry im so new on openwrt thanks!

Without knowing the device in question (and not hsving checked the source), I would assume that wan is not part of the switch (but has a dedicated i/f to the SOC). If that would be the case, you could only bridge it in software (kernel), which comes at a hefty performance penalty (in other words, don't do it, just ignore the wan port).

ok i will take note, well thats a bummer i guess

I would try just bridge it.
Depending on your use case, you may not even notice performance drawback.
