Very fast question: ftth 2.5gb and openwrt

Finally after waiting years ftth came to my address.

Actually I use 7490 and fttc

I can use a standard pc with a 2.5gb ethernet and connect it to ont, or is better to use an openwrt router? As I know 7490 is 1gb ethernet port.

Thanks

if ONT isn't acting as router, your PC is exposed directly to internet (unless you're behind a CGNAT)

or do you mean "standard PC" as router ?

Why not both? Like a standard PC running OpenWrt, with a 2.5Gbps ethernet card connected to the ONT…

Standard pc as router

Fujitsu S920 + dual or quad port 2.5GbE card.

if you already own one, go for it.
