Using LEDE with vodafone fibre

Hi All,
I just bought a BT Homehub 5 with LEDE and am trying to connect to my vodafone fibre. The router shows that it is synced but I just cant get access to the internet. Have set vlan to 101 and I have my pppoe username and password from VF.

LEDE looks impressive but its confusing the hell out of me so far. I'm not exactly a novice but I feel like one reading most of the posts on here!

Didn't see an idiots guide....

Wouldn't help, as you seem to be no idiot...

Have you looked at https://openwrt.ebilan.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=7 already? I believe this is where the hh5a crowd hangs out mostly. I believe that [https://openwrt.ebilan.co.uk/download/file.php?id=394] (https://openwrt.ebilan.co.uk/download/file.php?id=394) actually contains advice for vodafone, not sure about the "fibre" part ... Many ISPs use this to denote copper wires to a fibre-attached DSLAM/MSAN, but some actual mean what one naively expects, a true fiber to the home or at least fiber to the building solution. In the latter case look at section 9.2, 9.3 and 9.9 in the LEDE Installation Guide for BT Home Hub 5A. But I have a hunch that at speeds above say 150 Mbps combined up and down the BTHH5A might simply run out of steam... (so might not be the best router for a true fiber link). Now you say it syncs so you are on a xdsl link, but the adbice is still the same look into the instructions

Hope this helps somewhat...

Great, thanks for the help. I'll have a look.

moeller0 you're a star!!
I wish I asked earlier. That was exactly what I was looking for and am now connected. I think I was just overwhelmed by the posts by people showing their config files and it had already been a long day.

Thanks!

Great! always happy to help, especially if is as easy as pointing to great instructions other's have already written (so no work required on my side  )

BTW, I believe @bill888 here in the forum is the one responsible for the great instructions, thanks bill (happy hh5a as modem user here).

The instructions seem to have been removed. Perhaps just moved elsewhere?

Ah I found it in my download folder

Hi mate if they have bin taken down would you mind trying to find some ware you can post them for any one who finds this thread? I don't have a home hub but they can be some what of a real pane to set up with some ISPs. Thanks in advance.

Happy to send by email

Well the first link to the forum still works (https://openwrt.ebilan.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=7) and the first post in the first topic still has a link to the installation guide at its end. I guess the direct links to the dropbox share were a bad idea, as these links obviously might need to change if the dropbox folder is updated/changed. So in short following the first link should still get you to the instructions and even better, to the most recent version of the instruction...
