Using Huawei E3372 in RNDIS mode

I have a Huawei E3372h USB modem and want to connect to the Internet in RNDIS mode. I've looked at various guides but get confused by the options, and don't really understand all the different protocols mentioned here:-

Is this the definitive guide that I should stick to?

or is there an update?

I'm assuming that this will work on a PC...
