That is not supported here.

Open a new thread describing industrial applications you are running. For AP or dialing GSM everything works as in wiki, not much to add.

You can do that with winscp (windows) or mc (linux) on other computer without wasting 16MB flash space.

We don't know why your OEM didn't edit SUPPORT_URL. You have to ask them, but it happens.

Thanks for reminding me that mc supports access via sshfs, I’d forgotten about that.

I’ve decided to try to upgrade the firmware, but am unable to do so via the GUI.

Is it possible to run sysupgrade.bin from the command line via ssh?

Posting link to commit again

https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/commit/d1130ad265b994d1b23972bab8c99787759686d0

what OEM version is installed? Which of OEM menus you use to upload?

I go to

System -> Firmware -> Update Firmware

and there is an option to Update from File.

But when I click on ‘Browse’ it closes my browser, hence the desire to update from the command line.

Please stop using this, it's been explained that your OEM left remnants of OpenWrt information in their firmware. Continuing to post this is only causing confusion and doesn't magically make the OEM firmware become official.

This is the information needed to assist you:

I’m afraid I don’t really understand.

Are you saying I can or can’t upgrade this device to an official OpenWrt version, and if so how would I go about upgrading it from the command line?

:person_facepalming: No, I'm not. I'm saying that your OEM firmware isn't 21.02.0, so it makes no sense to keep posting.

Again, official instructions are here:

What are you uploading? Minesweeper.exe?

The official instructions say:-

Flash instruction: Vendor firmware is based on OpenWrt CC release. Use the "factory" image directly in GUI (make sure to uncheck "keep settings")

As I have explained several times, when I try to upgrade via the GUI, I select update from file to use a file on a USB attached pen, but when I click on Browse. Chrome closes down, that is why I want to update from the command line rather than the GUI.

Totally not related to OpenWrt.
Use other browser and check your virrus logs. Should not be such a feat to upload a file.

New information.

How is this OpenWrt-related?

Have you used an alternative browser?

The commit only shows GUI instructions. Feel free to email the person listed in the commit to ask for CLI instructions.

(Again, your OEM firmware isn't OpenWrt, so we cannot guess command line instructions. You can try at your own risk, but I'm reluctant to provide any untested directions that could brick your device.)

Edit:

This was also new information.

Usually the "Browse" button in a browser is for the local machine's file system, not for a USB inserted into a remote device. Additionally, it's unclear why one would transfer the firmware to USB or not use the [local] machine it was downloaded to. Therefore, we don't why you're using a USB flash drive for any purpose.

Feel free to follow the directions in the commit.
