Use domain A name to access router

Hey guys,

Not sure if this belongs in this section or not. But I have a question.

How do I set up a domain name to access the router? For example:
I want to use router.domain.com to access 192.168.0.1. I have created the A name on the domain side to point to 192.168.0.1, however it does not always work, and it will sometimes drop the connection if DNS servers are having a fit. Is there a way to encode it within the OS to make sure the router itself redirects that connection too?

I have added in admin/network/hosts the forward, but wanted to make sure it is indeed the correct way.
Also, if there is a way to do that via ssh - that would make life even more fun.

Thank you!

You should add it as a host on dnsmasq (since it is probably your dns server on the router)
