Linksys EA8500 running 18.06.2
opkg update & install all the neccessary packages -> usb0 interface -> firewall up for WAN (https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wan/smartphone.usb.tethering)
still can't get my TetheringWAN to wake up, don't know where have i done wrong.
Linksys UI is extremely boring just like TP-Link.

The RNDIS setup is complete. It should now work to just replace the Ethernet port in the wan physical settings with usb0. The wan should obtain an IP address (usually in 192.168.42.0/24) from the phone via DHCP.

Don't make a new network. Change the existing wan physical port from ethernet to usb. That way the DHCP client and firewall rules are all in place already.

On the phone, you usually must go to the settings menu and enable tethering, after connecting the USB cord.
