I'm wondering if there's any risk of moving my Ubiquiti UniFi 6 Lite from OpenWrt SNAPSHOT r18646-3869ccbcc8 to stable release 23.05.0 and what the process would be?
Do I need to worry about losing my configs / settings?

For your hardware IDK. What issues are you experiencing to drive the change?
what?
are you asking why do I want to be on a stable release?
Yes, in my experience the snapshots have been rock solid.
I would prefer to be on a stable release.
Would you say you often respond to help / support queries that have nothing to do with assistance except to derail the focus?
Your tone is unwelcomed. I am pointing out that if the snapshot is working for you, why risk downgrading? For example, some changes to (I think) u-boot currently makes downgrading from a snapshot to stable on the Belkin RT3200 dangerous. Too lazy to look up the thread now as a reference. You might be fine downgrading your hardware, but without some detailed knowledge about changes in the code, you might be taking a risk. If the risk-benefit calculation is upside down, why do that? Meaning, if your snapshot is stable, why risk it was my friendly advice.
I'd also argue your question is unnecessary. While you may think you're being helpful I asked two specific questions and you answered neither of them while without any of the explanation you just added, which just derails a thread. This is by your own admission already after commenting you're really not familiar with my hardware to begin with.
Yes, in my experience the snapshots have been rock solid.
which is again useless since you're not running my hardware.
Lastly re: snapshots vs stable all is easily answered from
the reasons already outlined here, snapshots are fast moving targets that maintain no software stability moving forward.
For just an example, the snapshot I was running did not have a country code selector for wifi management.
For others benefit. I just decided to bite the bullet and upgrade directly to the stable release through LuCI using the openwrt sysupgrade fw image located on this page. Uploaded through LuCI and flashed successfully, retained all settings normally and gained the country selector back under wireless.
Hope this helps others. Closing the thread as solved.
