Upgrade from ubifs to squashfs OpenWrt without sysupgrade?

Hi folks, I'm needing to upgrade a Kirkwood pogoplugv4 running Chaos Chalmer that has no sysupgrade support:
Firmware upgrade is not implemented for this platform

This installation is running ubifs as rootfs, and since all newer images for OpenWrt are based on squashfs, I was not able to find a way to write this into the internal nand.

Unfortunately I have no way to reach the uboot console through UART as well, but I have a Debian on mmc and Chaos Chalmer running on the NAND.

Any clues on how could I achive this?

Why dont use tftp? If avalable

You should proceed as if you're installing from stock, so follow the instructions in the commit that added support for your device.
