Upgrade from 23.05.4 to 23.05.5 fails

Hey folks,
Having an issue upgrading from 23.05.4 to 23.05.5 on a Raspberry Pi 4B x64 using ext4 using a 256gb sc card.
The issue I have is that the upgrade process fails and kicks me back into the status/overview page. I downloaded openwrt-23.05.5-bcm27xx-bcm2711-rpi-4-ext4-sysupgrade.img.gz from this website but it won't let me upgrade. The only info in the system log is this:
Tue Oct 22 14:44:54 2024 user.info upgrade: Reading partition table from bootdisk...
Tue Oct 22 14:44:54 2024 user.info upgrade: Reading partition table from image...

Tue Oct 22 14:45:07 2024 user.info upgrade: Reading partition table from bootdisk...
Tue Oct 22 14:45:07 2024 user.info upgrade: Reading partition table from image...
Tue Oct 22 14:45:17 2024 kern.info kernel: [1067029.427296] overlayfs: "xino" feature enabled using 2 upper inode bits.
Tue Oct 22 14:45:17 2024 user.info upgrade: Saving config files...

That's it. No other errors reported. A reboot does not help. Wondering what's going on here. The kernel log shows no info related to the error.

Given that this is a RPi, it should be relatively easy to gather further debug info (and probably error messages) via serial console or a hdmi connected screen.

Worst case, you might gave to install OpenWrt from scratch again (zcat), but that shouldn't be necessary (disclaimer, no personal experience with the RPi specifics).

I tried upgrading via ssh and terminal, it bricked it. I tried restoring a previous image but it's missing my usb lan drivers and a bunch of other stuff.
I'm going to have to reinstall from scratch I think. This is not going how I wanted LoL.
Last time I did an install it took literally hours to get it fully operational between the customized image builder (which doesn't seem to be working for me) I need for drivers for my usb tplink ue300 gigabit adapter and all the modified settings I have like a vpn, adblock, static ip;s, etc etc etc.

So much fun!

You can use the firmware selector to prepare the image with some necessary packages.
