For some reason I cant update my xr500 to the latest stable firmware 25.12.5.
I also cant see anything in logs. I have enough memory and storage available.
Can I get some help please?

Install the upgrade (not using the sysupgrades image) by using the initial install procedure.
Do you mean flashing back to duma os, then flash openwrt?
I have tried flashing from the backup/restore page and it also stalls like this...

It just stays like this forever
no need to flash back to stock, simply flash openwrt 25.12.5 the same way you installed it.
Unfortunately that didn't work either, it just stalls and I have to force refresh the page.
I even tried it in the cli and it didnt work. Not sure how or where to read for errors.

I go to upload the flash image and it will just stay at that message
again, where and which image ?
The easiest way to get forward with 25.12.5 might be to use the Netgear recovery tftp flash routine, and use the 25.12.5 OpenWrt factory image ( not sysupgrade image). See detail advice e.g. in

(XR500 is the direct successor for R7800, so the same advice applies, as for R7800. )
I have used the tftp flash routine dozens of times during the last 10 years with R7800. Easy to use. It can be used to flash the OEM image or the OpenWrt factory images.
