Hello, I've been using openwrt for a couple of years moved over from dd-wrt. I've just updated my R7800 router to the latest build for my router. Everything appears to be working as it should. I have been using Attended Sysupgrade (working well) but this version required a new flash as it was not compatible.
My question is.... I can see many installed packages that have an update available, is it ok to update these manually via the UI? Attended Sysupgrade says there's nothing to update.
All am I'm better off leaving it until Sysupgrade picks up there's and upgrade available?
Only use sysupgrade (i.e. full firmware upgrades).
Upgrading packages (via the CLI opkg upgrade command or the LuCI Upgrade... button) can result in major problems. It is generally highly discouraged, unless you know what you are doing or if there is specific instruction to do so.
