UniFi AP AC LR, 19.07.1 & eth down after reboot

I have updated to OpenWrt 19.07.1. After restarting by software (ssh, lede), the ethernet port goes down and does not work again until I disconnect the poe.
I have tested the manufacturer's firmware and OpenWrt 18.06.2 version and that does not happen.
Any idea how to fix it?

After resetting to default values, new installation, the error is reproduced in versions 19.07.1 and 19.07.2

Are you running the right firmware? I have flashed LRs with the ath79 ubnt_unifiac-lr 19.07.1 and they work.

I think so:
downloads.openwrt.org/releases/19.07.1/targets/ath79/generic/openwrt-19.07.1-ath79-generic-ubnt_unifiac-lite-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin

downloads.openwrt.org/releases/19.07.2/targets/ath79/generic/openwrt-19.07.2-ath79-generic-ubnt_unifiac-lite-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin

Is it a AC Lite or an AC LR? There are different builds, so definitely use the one that matches your model.

Thanks, I will try it. I took the url from here:
https://openwrt.org/toh/hwdata/ubiquiti/ubiquiti_unifi_apac_lr

It doesn't work, it stays the same. :sleepy:

Same here, but AC Lite.

Im throwing in the towel for the night, but tomorrow im going to try tftp back to stock, then follow my old lede 17 instructions. I ran a few of these flawlessly for years on 17.

I will then upgrade to 18, and check. Then try my luck with 19 again.

My old lede 17 instructions said to write to kernel0 and kernel1. Current instructions say to write to kernel0 and erase kernel1. I then tried to write a zero byte to the br partition (the flip flop backup firmware flag I think) but I think I bricked it and need tftp. Uggggh.

Im hoping the issue is the install and not the newest firmware.

I will report back tomorrow for others to refer to.

Possiblly an issue with ath79 vs the older ar71xx

Lite and lr devices work with the same firmware.
I use branch 71xx which works fine.

https://downloads.openwrt.org/releases/19.07.3/targets/ar71xx/generic/openwrt-19.07.3-ar71xx-generic-ubnt-unifiac-lite-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin

That did it. The link on the install instructions links to ath79. Ar71xx works great, eth issue is gone.

Just set up an UAP Lite and ran into this issue. Is there any solution using ath79?
Anything we can do in /etc/rc.local to force the link to come up on reboot or is it lower level than that, hardware reset kind of issue? If I power cycle it comes up OK, it's only when I soft reboot, which in practice may not be a problem if it's otherwise stable.

Update: I tried a master build and it appears the issues is fixed. Not sure whether whatever the fix is will be backported to 19.0.7
