It's random and happens in batches. I'm not seeing any performance issues or experiencing connection problems. Can anyone elaborate what this message is means?
The router is in the DMZ of another router that is simply providing VPN capability. Everything is working properly but the warning/error is something I'd like to try and eliminate.
It appears you are using firmware that is not from the official OpenWrt project.
When using forks/offshoots/vendor-specific builds that are "based on OpenWrt", there may be many differences compared to the official versions (hosted by OpenWrt.org). Some of these customizations may fundamentally change the way that OpenWrt works. You might need help from people with specific/specialized knowledge about the firmware you are using, so it is possible that advice you get here may not be useful.
Ask for help from the maintainer(s) or user community of the specific firmware that you are using.
Provide the source code for the firmware so that users on this forum can understand how your firmware works (OpenWrt forum users are volunteers, so somebody might look at the code if they have time and are interested in your issue).
If you believe that this specific issue is common to generic/official OpenWrt and/or the maintainers of your build have indicated as such, please feel free to clarify.
Well, it seems you're running some other firmware - and additionally you seem completely unaware of why I asked about a modem (given the posted error). You may instead wish to inquire with the manufacturer of your device and firmware on how to suppress the log message.
Could you make me aware of why you’re asking about a modem? The modem is a router/modem from a fiber ISP that has the landline over it, so I’m not able to eliminate the ISP provided router, hence why I’m isolating this one in the DMZ and using it for VPN services.
I will contact the developer, but previous questions have gone unanswered from them. Given the functionality of the OWRT router isn’t affected I will assume this isn’t a critical error. Just wanted a general idea about what that message could mean.
Note that the messages are of type "notice" so they are likely to be more informational rather than related to any error.
Doing a quick internet search, it looks like it "could" be related to libwebsockets (lws) and it looks like ttyd uses libwebsockets to provide terminal access over http/s. Something like that "could" be part of the setup on that device. Both packages are available for official OpenWrt but as others have stated, FriendlyElec may have heavily modified the code for those or any number of other parts that make it difficult for volunteers here to try to support it.
I know nothing about these packages.
You could try asking on the support channels for each project or use this new info to look deeper into the support system for your device with FriendlyElec.
