Understanding radio power when configuring WIFI networks

Hi guys,

I have a Flint 2 and am currently working through an issue where the 5ghz signal is significantly weaker at the same power than my trashy old TP-LINK which was also running Openwrt. I am currently on 24.10.

One thing I was thinking about in my head is the power I have chosen for the 5ghz network I have configured. 63mw. As this device is a 4x4 I interpret this to mean 4x2.4ghz radios and 4x5ghz radios. My old device was 2x2.

When setting the power in Openwrt, is the 63mw I have set split between the 4x5ghz radios or 64mw for each one?

My logic is that the previous device ran at this power and only split between 2 radios, but now I am splitting by 4. Wondering if that accounts for the signal drop?

Thanks all
