I have just installed 24.10.5 on the second boot partition of my Linksys EA8500. The router sits behind a UK Virgin Media Hub 3.0. The Hub 3.0 is in a modem-only mode. The router is unable to obtain a DHCP lease from the modem. I have tried restarting the router and the modem in various successions, but no luck. Once I switch back to the 23.05 boot partition and reboot the modem, the router springs back to life.
I would be very grateful for any pointers. While 23.05 is not giving me any issues, I am aware of it being end-of-life and not scheduled to receive any further security patches. Therefore, I would very much like to migrate to 24.10.
@slh - thank you for fixing the typo in the title.
@egc - thank you for your very helpful reply. The bug you mention may well be the reason why I am unable to get a DHCP lease. The one time where I was able to get the internet by rebooting the cable modem was before I enabled the wireless. I will do some testing by disabling the wireless and see if this has any effect.
