Unable to successfully recover after flashing WRX36 SNAPSHOT

Hello.
I seem to have a problem with my router after flashing SNAPSHOT r26467-50e26e6fd7-20240531. The router got bricked. I am able to boot it using the nitramfs-uImage.itb stored on a FAT32 USB flash disk. When booted using the USB, at some point I am able to connect to it via SSH. However, after I remove the USB and reboot it again, my laptop cannot get an IP address from it and so cannot connect to it. Even getting access when I boot of the kernel itself is now becoming unreliable much as it appears to boot normally. I hope I haven't lost it completely because I have made several attempts but still unsuccessful.

Is there another method I can use to recover the router?

Did you retry the 2nd part of the Openwrt install procedure?

Run fw_printenv, and verify the uboot settings with the ones on the wiki page.

Sorry. By the second part you mean what exactly?

After removing the USB flash and doing reboot, I don't get any IP address from the router:

Did you have serial ?

If you do, did you change the uboot params to reenable uboot output ?

You can do it from the initramfs, using fw_setenv.

Looking to the failing boot sequence would probably help.

There's a link in the WRX36 wiki, in the install using serial section, to a post describing how to reenable boot loader serial output, if it's been disabled by Dynalink.

Use fw_setenv to set the params.

Obviously there's no timing involved, you just set them from Openwrt.

So the router boots fine, IMHO. Or no? I was able to login to OpenWrt from the serial console. But I discovered that even as I booted off the USB, the initramfs image wasn't erasing the network configurations and resetting them to the defaults. I used the reset button on the router which did this and my router is now usable again.

Thank you so much for suggesting the serial option. It's what led me to the device's RESET button.
