Hello everyone, I recently bought a wi-fi card (AMD RZ608 - Xiaolo AX3000 on amazon) to create another access point in my home. This is a Mediatek MT7921K rebranded chip.
The card works well under OpenWRT 22.03 only I have a problem with the transmission power which is limited to only 3 dbm. When I choose a higher power, the power remains at 3 dbm. I tried to change the location, the channel, the frequency band, but still 3dbm. It's a pity because when I'm right next door the card works very well and the connection is fast and reliable.Images
The card is plugged on a PC which is my Proxmox server and the wi-fi card is in pci passthrough on the VM.
Server configuration :
It runs under Proxmox 7.1-7 and the installed version of Openwrt is 22.03.0-rc5
You may be seeing limitations of the kernel module, apparently AP mode for these client devices was only added recently

Thanks for your reply, I'll wait a while for the card to be really supported and I'll post the results here.
Did you try a snapshot build?
I did, but the drivers used is the same. I think we just need to wait now.

I was under the impression that the latest snapshot builds use the most recent mt76 driver which supposedly gives support for mt7921 ap mode. Maybe I'm wrong though.
You are not wrong, the ap mode work well, it’s just the tx power which always comes to 3 dbm whatever the value chosen.

Probably a stupid question but have you tried using the default wireless region setting instead of FR?
Yes I tried, but in this case the card does not activate. I really think you have to wait for a real support of the card to be 100% usable
