Feel free to compile and test a suitable patch, maybe based on my original for R7800. See discussion at https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/pull/1003
Before this kind of changes are committed, somebody with the actual device should test it. I only did R7800 as that is the only device that I have access to. (For R7800 the change is now both in master and in 18.06.0-rc2)
