Trying to install 24.10 on a D-Link DIR 2660 Router

I have three D-Link DIR 2660 routers of which i use two as dumb access points and the third as the main DHCP router with a cable & 4g Modem.
All three were running OpenWrt 21.02.1 r16325-88151b8303 and I updated the two access points to 24.10 by hopping to 22, 23 then 24.10 and retaining the old settings.
However, the third router will not update, while it uploads the new sysupgrade image it fails to complete and returns to OpenWrt 21.02.1 r16325-88151b8303.
This is the main router and I want to retain the settings, so that I do no thave to rebuild the DHCP, HDD sharing, DUAL WAN settings, etc
Any help will be appreciated

I think you know the answer
save the settings you have "only for a reference"
erase setting sysupgrade and rebuild

I didn't even think that model had a V21
it maybe the switch to DSA changes, stopping it

it seems weird it's not taking without showing at error before trying
I feel you may need to use the factory image via the recover console

I use WinSCP to compare the config files from saved files to current
they do change things, so you can't just copy them back
but it helps hi light the differences

Yes, I reset to factory image and updated the required settings, took a while but got there in the end.
