Trying to build OpenWrt for NXP i.MX board

I have a special (and maybe unusual) use case, where I would like to run OpenWRT in docker on a NXP i.MX board. I assume I just need to build openwrt with the i.MX board as a target while (cross-)compiling and then use the resulting rootfs to create a docker container from scratch, but I don't have any experience whatsoever with cross-compiling. I downloaded the openwrt/imagebuilder docker container, but when running make info it only offers x86-64 as target? Can someone maybe guide me in the right direction a bit?
Thanks for any help!

Edit: This is the device I want to run OpenWRT on. It comes with a custom linux operating system with docker, I would like to run OpenWRT alongside some other docker containers on it.
