I am tyring to install OpenWRt on an RT3200, I have done this before but they had older versions of FW. What do I need to do to install it on on the 1.2 FW version
Been reading this https://openwrt.org/toh/linksys/e8450 and the included links. but ther eisn't much regarding the 1.2 version.
Any help would be great

You need to download an flash the SIGNED installer file. But first, you need to complete the setup on the router, meaning, you need to have internet connection. After that, go to the FW update section and upload the signed installer and flash it. It'll reboot to a recovery environment where you can install the latest sysupgrade image.
I've been on 25.03.x and now I'm on snapshot builds and they work really great. So I recommend, using the signed 1.1.3 installer and a snapshot sysupgrade image. Be aware that the snapshots downloaded from downloads.openwrt.org don't contain Luci. So, it's recommended to create a custom build on the Firmware Selector.

Even the signed installer failed. I finally decided to just open it up and use UART and TPRT(?) and it is all set now.
I did have it all connected to the internet for everything I was trying. Just glad it's set up now
