There are questions about the operation of the triggerhappy and the infrared adapter.
openWrt 18.06.1, mr3020 v.3
Is there a list of infrared adapter models that work with triggerhappy?
If so, where can I find it so as not to buy an adapter at random, but to know that this model will work?
There is an adapter orient ir-203 available.
On lsusb it is visible as
Bus 001 Device 036: ID 07d0:4959 Dazzle Kingsun KS-959 Infrared Adapter
But dmesg does not provide any information about it.
There is no reaction to pressing the infrared remote control buttons in triggerhappy.
I check with the team
thd --dump /dev/input/*
Is it possible to make this adapter still work in openWrt with triggerhappy?
Or look for another?
EDIT: Looks like I'm wrong about the below, but leaving it (with strikethrough) just in case there are any scenarios under which my earlier discussion applies.
I don’t have any real answers for you, but it does appear your device was built for use with IrDA. I’m not sure if such devices will work as a standard remote control ir transmitter, unless the host has direct/raw control capability over the ir led (I’m not sure what exactly is inside that device and if it has some predefined communication method/encoding).
This question seems to suggest that it will not be possible to use the device for remote control purposes.
You should probably see if you can find detailed documentation from the people who wrote/maintain trigger happy about supported IR transmitters.
ok... cool... I stand corrected But wow... that's a nearly useless range (although might be fine if you can put the transmitter within that range inside a rack/cabinet of equipment).
IrDA hardware has just been designed with those distances in mind (almost touching distance), but there are more purpose built (non-IrDA) IR receivers (mostly USB based) to use with lirc or plain input system support.
