Tplink ue306 usb->ethernet (AX88179)

I use a Raspberry Pi 4 as my router.
I replaced a tplink ue300 usb to ethernet adapter with a tplink 306 (ax88179 chipset).
I got tons of errors like:
ax88179_178a 2-2:1.0 eth1: Failed to write reg index 0x000e: -110
I googled it after I bought it and I saw many people had similar problems.
I installed " kmod-usb-net-asix-ax88179" initially.
There was no specific permant solution but I did see reference to loading a cdc_mbim module.
I installed "kmod-usb-net-cdc-mbim" and there are no errors.
I removed it and rebooted and there are still no errors (I checked and it is running as USB3).

I have the same problem, my adapter is an EDUP (AX88179) with rasp4 too.

These errors were happening after many hours of use. I couldn't force them, until I went to test the waveform.com bufferload, and managed to generate other different errors, I did it a few times in a row and each time the system crashed. After about three times, it simply stopped braking for the same reason...

I'm going to continue testing with this new power supply, anything I'll follow your tip and try this package, did you just install or modify any other file?

Until later...

Edited:
I installed kmod-usb-net-cdc-mbim, the problems continued.

The problem disappeared after I installed kmod-usb-net-cdc-mbim but I removed it and the problems stayed fixed so that was probably a coincidence.
