TPLINK RE200 stuck on boot after installing snapshot version

Hello, so I installed OpenWRT on this wireless repeater some hours ago, but its Luci web server did not work, I tried doing a bunch of things like trying to use opkg update, opkg install luci but it showed an error. I decided to go back to the stock firmware, but somehow I messed up that process, and now it doesn't boot up. I tried using sysupdate, tftp (it didn't connect), and some other methods I found in the documentation.

Does someone know a way to recover the device? I'll provide any information you need as long as I'm able to. Thanks.

When I firstly tried to get into the webserver it refused the connection, then I figured out how to enable the server but it showed the image below, I couldn't manage to get into the luci web interface.

@arboltioloco have you tried the solution in this topic?

I also had problems installing luci on the RE200 (v4)

What I did was flashing it with;
http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/targets/ramips/mt76x8/openwrt-ramips-mt76x8-tplink_re200-v4-squashfs-factory.bin

and then installing via the web browser this one;
http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/targets/ramips/mt76x8/openwrt-ramips-mt76x8-tplink_re200-v4-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin

Then it won't reset after a restart, so you can use this topic.

Good luck :slight_smile:

snapshots doesn't come with the web UI, you have to manually install it afterwards.

TFTP is pretty much fool proof, if it fails, it's probably you doing it wrong :wink:

I had this problem when I was trying to set this up. But the issue now is that I executed a command that I shouldn't have executed, and now when I plug the device in, it reboots in a loop, and because of that I haven't been able to access it via ssh nor tftp, so I can't try this solution right now. Thank you very much for your help, anyways :smiley:

u-boot can in general be interrupted, but who knows what you've done :wink:
