TP-Link TL-WDR4300: suddenly "OF: Bad cell count for /ahb/spi@1f000000"

Hi guys.

I just flashed OpenWrt 23.05.0-rc4 to my trusted old WDR4300, and I noticed the below errors which seem to be new.

(As you can see from the above map, I've flashed the device to use the "U-Boot" boot loader some years ago, just to mention it in case it contributes to this possible incorrect parsing of flash layouts...)

The messages above sound a bit alarming to me, as if there is some "corruption" or at least issues properly interpreting the flash layout...

Before flashing 23.05.0-rc4 I was running 22.03.x I believe...

Any comments? Is this just a harmless warning that can be ignored, or should I be alerted?

As far as I can tell, the device is working well...

Kind regards,

Ralf

I've seen this on a TP-Link RE305v3 I use as a "dumb AP" for a while now.

I was pointed to the issue below, which has been reported on other devices as well, see:

In the discussion of the above issue, it was said it is a "harmless error" (see here).

Thank you. I've accepted your response as the "solution."
