TP-Link TL-WDR3600 sysupgrade

Hi.
I've a TP-Link TL-WDR3600 v1 with OpenWrt 19.07.6. I would like to upgrade it to 21.02.3, but I'm not sure if I can "Keep settings and retain current configuration" or my device is affected by the switch from swconfig to DSA mentioned in this page. If think is it ok to keep the config because is mentioned "ath79 (only TP-Link TL-WR941ND)" and my device is not this one. But i'm asking to you for safety. Thanks

ath79 is not using dsa so far, the tl-wdr3600 works fine with 21.02.x or 22.03~.

There have been other changes to the configuration syntax though, so parts of your 19.07 configuration files are deprecated. It would be best to start from a default configuration and rebuild it to meet your usage.

Save your old configuration to your PC. A saved configuration is a tar of text files which you can open and read for reference.

is the tar file that is generated in the backup section?

But if i use the keep setting function will i brick the device or what?

Yes that is what you want.

Something may work wrong. So it is not recommended to do it.
