trust me, you won't get more help by creating more than one thread about the issue ...
i have deleted one,i mistake in the section where i posted. but thanks for your help.
- Make sure you are installing the right file, and following the procedure
- Do a step-by-step analysis, and provide more info about what works and what does not work: configure a fixed IP address on the PC, ping the device, do a port scan, see if DHCP works, post the relevant messages and screenshots, ...
thanks for reply, when i restoring to factory stock firmware forced me to configure a password so i didn´t and turned off and flashed openwrt-23.05.4-ath79-generic-tplink_tl-wa1201-v2-squashfs-factory by tftp method, when restarting after flash power led turns on...stay at least a minute, then turn on cable led when finally came up, nothing works luci won`t open it stays loading...i tried by ssh same result in my openwrt router has a static lease on 192.168.0.148. this could be the problem? thanks for all.
When using serial and the bootloader to write directly to flash, use the sysupgrade
image file, not factory
. Writing directly to flash has a risk of overwriting vital data that can't be replaced if you make a mistake with the addresses or sizes. It is safer to boot the initramfs
file from RAM then use it to install the sysupgrade file.
During initial setup the newly-installed router should be connected directly to your PC. Neither the router or the PC should be connected to any other network.
oh i have to flash by serial? bad for me....no idea how to do that.but thanks a lot.
I'm going by this page, where "TFTP method" means that you use serial:
https://openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wa1201_v2
The "easy" non-serial installation using the factory webgui should work though.
- Flash the oldest version of factory firmware that you can find on the TP-Link site.
- Reset factory firmware to defaults
- After it reboots, configure a password so you can get to the upgrade page
- Upgrade using the OpenWrt
factory
file - Allow time for flashing to complete (at least 5 minutes) then cut the power and restart manually.
- Wait until the "system" light stops blinking (about 2-3 minutes) then you should be able to log in to OpenWrt at 192.168.1.1.
thanks for the data....when you say cut the power you mean unplugi from the power cable? will try it an then wil post again. thanks a lot.
i follow your insrtuctions, step by step...same result, openwrt router does not give an ip,when i try to log in at this 192.168.1.1 stays loading...and loading....power led stop blinking, but cable not...keeps blinking.
How many routers are we taking about here?
Have you tried with just one router and one computer?
routers 1,AP 1. wi fi on mi archer c7,is not working, thats why i brought the AP. that has only one ethernet gigabit port. that
s why i need the router in the middle.
