Hello. I want to upgrade the flash chip of w8970 with 25q128. I found this page as a guide but I couldn't do it.

I installed the modified uboot file given on the page. But the device won't start. with the serial screen just shows this.

ROM VER: 1.1.4 CFG 05

Does anyone know any other guides?

I assume you actually replaced the flash chip, correct?

Yes I removed the flash chip. I bought a new 25q128 chip. I installed the uboot file on the site with ch341.

Double-check the soldering and verify that you really flashed U-Boot. If I'm not mistaken, the output you get is from the Lantiq SoC before it loads U-Boot.
