i cannot find the TP-Link TD-W8950N v1 at all. Is there no Support or is it just not listed?

The TD-W8960N v1 is an ancient "4/32" unit for which you should read https://openwrt.org/supported_devices/432_warning as well as realizing that Broadcom-based wireless under open-source firmware is, well, marginal at best.
The TL-W8950 doesn't look much better and the 8960 v1 firmware is unlikely to work, and may brick the unit.
