TP-Link RE200 V1 Supported FW version?

It is unclear from the OpenWRT page for the RE200 which version of OpenWRT firmware is supported by the RE200 V1 hardware.

https://openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/re200

In the supported versions table for RE200 V1 it lists 23.05.04 as the supported version.

There is then a large warning note stating:

The latest OpenWrt release (23.05.3, 23.05.4 and 22.03.7) are broken on the RE200v1!
Do not flash these images, you will brick your device!

Which of these statements is correct and what is the newest version of OpenWrt that is supported on the RE200 V1 hardware?

https://firmware-selector.openwrt.org/?version=23.05.5&target=ramips%2Fmt7620&id=tplink_re200-v1

23.05.5 is listed here and I would bet, the Devs would have deleted it if something is wrong. But wait until a Dev clarifies...

I can’t answer if 23.05.5 is safe for this device, but the devs have not deleted the files from the release versions that are problematic.

The device has extremely slow flash chip. It takes close to 20 minutes to flash, you have to flash combination of oem bootloader block +openwrt concatenation , then only sysupgrades. my V4 is a bit faster still 6-7min for sysupgrades.

Serial header is right next to live mains prongs to make recovery more memorable.

Use smaller older image (prepared with oem boot block) without luci to not lose patience during first install. Then sysupgrade to 23.05.2 until situation is clarified.
