I have successfully replaced the SPI flash (25Q64JV) 8MiB with a larger one (25Q128JV) 16Mib using a CH341 programmer, reading the dump from the 8M one and writing it to the 16M one but OpenWRT is using only 8M
The challenge now is to build a Openwrt image that can use the complete 16M and since i do not have the experience to do this i am requesting for help if someone is able to build an sysupgrade for me.
do you think someone is interested in building a new sysupgrade image for you for every new openwrt release that comes out ?
learn how to do it, or try using the extra space as extroot, if you haven't already moved the partitions at the end of the old flash all the way to the end of the new flash.
