TP-Link Deco M4 (v4) OpenWRT fresh install

I recently got 2 of these mesh units and since I dont really like the TP-Link overall but want to utilize them as acces points.
I tried looking for OpenWRT installation and found out they are compatible, however no matter what I try I cannot get them to install the OpenWRT firmware.

Tried resetting them and acces through RJ45 direct to laptop, nothing.
Tried the TFTP option with resetting and pushing firmware file, nothing.
Even tried just updating the firmware through the web portal while linked in regular AP mode, nothing.

Am I missing something or is installing it on these M4's (V4) not as easy?

tried https://git.openwrt.org/openwrt/openwrt/commit/?id=d4c63c77866bf09668b541760b6c9f277b41ac87 ?

Yeah it doesn't seem to want to boot into recovery mode no matter what I try.
After sitting on the reset button for a minute I gave up.

You obviously tried both ports ?

Did you try to power it down and pressed reset while powering it back on?

Tried both ports and pushing reset while powering on.
It keeps blinking yellow indefinitely.

Tried both 192.168.0.2 as IP as 192.168.0.66 as 192.168.1.2 and even DHCP.
Everything on both ports

It doesn't seem to want to get into the u-boot webserver

Then you'll need serial to investigate further.
