Is it safe to upgrade TP-Link Archer C7 v5 directly to 24.10 from the GUI?
I am not gonna lie the current version 23.05.3 I am on works so well that I never even had to check it log in or reboot in a long time. It is like a tank. Amazing code!!! Thank you.
Is the upgrade even recommended?

Not using the LuCI Attended Sysupgrade app, as that old version does not handle "package changes" and you'll break (at least) the luci-app-package-manager if you try. From the command line, auc -b 24.10 will do the 23.05 -> 24.10 upgrade, or if you know the extra packages you've installed you could use the firmware selector to create a new image containing them.
Just for reference, I upgraded my v4 using using auc without any issues.
