TP-Link Archer c7 v2 -Atheros AG71xx- Ethernet Adapter no WOL

Hi there,
I have OpenWRT version 19.01 running on my TP-Link c7 v2 router. The network adapters are from Atheros AG71xx.
When I use my first network interface with:

root@rome03:~# ethtool eth0
Settings for eth0:
	Supported ports: [ ]
	Supported link modes: 1000baseT/Full
	Supported pause frame use: No
	Supports auto-negotiation: No
	Supported FEC modes: Not reported
	Advertised link modes: 1000baseT/Full
	Advertised pause frame use: No
	Advertised auto-negotiation: No
	Advertised FEC modes: Not reported
	Speed: 1000Mb/s
	Duplex: Full
	Port: MII
	PHYAD: 0
	Transceiver: internal
	Auto-negotiation: on
	Current message level: 0x000000ff (255)
drv probe link timer ifdown ifup rx_err tx_err
	Link detected: yes

Folgender Kernel ist installiert:

root@rome03:~# uname -r
4.14.167

I found the following page on the net:

[type or paste code here](https://lkml.org/lkml/2019/10/29/269)

On the website I find the following note: "net: stmmac: Do not stop PHY if WoL is enabled"
Why can't the network adapters do WOL?
Do I have to install a newer kernel?

I do not understand your question / reasoning...

Sending a WoL magic should be possible with all ethernet adapters.
Reacting on a WoL magic on your always running router isn't supported and makes no sense.

So, can you explain your problem more precise?

I want to move my router to the power failure in mode so that the router can start again via Wake on LAN after that.
Why? Because this router is connected to USB hard drives.

Your router does start/run if it has power...
No need and no support for WoL!

So nothing can happen if files are edited on the USB hard drive and suddenly the power fails?

You are searching for a UPS.
