I am having an issue with my router (mt7621). Version 23.05.5 works perfectly, but as I tried upgrading to 24.10.0 I lost internet connection. The wan interface shows an error as if it is not present. Luckily I could downgrade since LuCi access was available.
But after the downgrade to 23.05.5 internet did not work either, although the wan interface appeared normally. I managed to finally regain internet acces by restoring my previous configuration from a backup.
I serched online and found that there is a similar report with TP-Link AX23. However, I could not find answers on how to solve this. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Any idea about the cause/possible solution?
In my opinion it may be related to your configuration, I have upgraded my C6U without issues. Maybe you could share your redacted configuration files at least for network and firewall ?
To test that, I tried reflashing 24.10.0 and restored my exact configuration as in 23.05.5 from a backup. Still no internet. No way to get any connection. As soon as I reflash 23.05.5 it instantly starts working again with the exact same configuration. When I restore the configuration from 23.05.5 in 24.10.0, the wan interface reappears correctly, but still no internet.
MAC addresses of WAN interfaces (wan and wan6) are identical in both versions when using this backup configuration. No idea what is going on, but I just can't get 24.10.0 to work. Is it related to something my ISP is doing?
OK. Apparently I managed to solve the issue. I flashed one more time 24.10.0 and reset the configuration completely to default. I finally got internet connection. I just had to manually input my own configuration again.
I hope I don't have to go through this for every major release. But at least it seems to be working fine now.
