TP-Link Archer AX23 v1.20 lan port speed capped at 100mb/s

Yeah, I remember that feeling, it was fun to make cables.

I just ordered a 50m cat5 ethernet cable, a network rj45 tester, a rj45 crimping tool. I'll buy cat5 rj45 connectors too when I have money.

My link dissapeared but it included everything including passthrough connectors.

When I bought it I still had the old callous making connectors and was determined not to waste them, until I got my second bad crimp and dumped them in the storage bin... :smirk:

The link is fixed now.

 passthrough connectors is definitely easier. Now, I ordered 100 passthrough connectors too.

Stating the obvious, but worth remembering... re-terminating the RJ45 connectors will only help if the issue is at the terminations. If there is a broken conductor along the length of the cable, you'll need to replace the whole cable (or if you're lucky enough to have access to the exact location of the break, you can always patch around it).

Make sure the crimp tool you got is compatible with the pass-through connectors.

That's the crimping tool I bought. I think it's not compatible with passthrough connectors but there is a mini tool that's bundled with it. I believe I can trim the cables with it.

No, that mini-tool is not for trimming the cables. It is a very basic CAT cable stripper (for the outer sheath) and a punchdown tool.

You really need the crimpers that are made for passthrough because you probably won't be able to trim the wires completely flush and cleanly enough for the RJ45 to mate properly with a jack.

Thanks for information. I cancelled the order and will look for one that's compatible with pass-through connectors.

I'd make sure and if not cancell the order.

Yes, you can trim it yourself but if there is enough sticking out it could easily get pushed into a line it is unintended for; especially stranded wires.

That said:
It would be a dinosaur if does not also trim.

As for an in line issue:
If it is intermittent you can bend the cord (no more bend than a pill bottle) along its length and check to see if that causes a fail.

Cat cable it not ment to be bent tightly. I think I read once no more than the wrap of a finger.

I ended up buying a PCI-E WiFi adapter and a WiFi card for my desktop PC.

Sorry for the delay.

Recently I bought a new cat6 outdoor ethernet cable and it was 1000mbps, so my old cable seems to be damaged somehow. I don't still use ethernet cable but WiFi but just wanted to give information about it. Thanks all.
