Hi.

I compiled a new build now...

I add your router.

It's been a while since I flashed my TL-WR841N v13, last time I flashed the firmware from the wiki I think, didn't work well. I see that there has been a lot of development since, but still I can't really see any enthusiasm. Are any of these builds stable or is the original FW still the best option?

Thanks for all the effort.

Hi.

I had problems with 31/12/18 driver.
So i compiled now the last Openwrt snapshot, with 28/12/18 driver (wich i do not had problems).

It´s on my pCloud.

@julianocs Thanks a lot!
I have still to test it further, but so far it looks very stable, more so than the original FW.
It's amazing how buggy it was just a couple months ago in contrast to this, very good.

Question: is there a way to toggle the access to the fail-safe (webGUI) without credentials or without physical access? As I understand it this can be disabled at buildtime, yet I understand why it would be useful at this point in time, but it's worrying that someone without root can reboot and, worse, flash a new firmware image with not credentials. Is there any sloppy workaround through SCP or by adding some parameter to the startup script?

Thanks!

On that note, using the reboot function in LuCI, resulted in this error after the reboot:

/usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:507: bad argument #1 to 'pairs' (table expected, got nil)
stack traceback:
	[C]: in function 'pairs'
	/usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:507: in function 'createtree'
	/usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:220: in function 'dispatch'
	/usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:112: in function </usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:111>

A powercycle resolved the issue though.

Thanks for the feedback @ner0

I have the same concern as you about Luci fail-safe.
I will remove in the next build.

About this error in LuCI, i will check out...

You know that you can also do that in /etc/config/luci - correct?

config internal 'apply'
        option rollback '30'
        option holdoff '4'
        option timeout '5'
        option display '1.5'

How so?
Those are the parameters already in the version where the reboot and fail-safe functions are available to anyone that browses the web interface with no credentials.

rollback - self-explanatory;
holdoff - what is this? The time the user must keep the reset button pressed?
timeout - ?
display - ?

Hello everyone,

@julianocs, is it possible to use your build on WR841HP V5, I saw the hardware and is the same of the WR841ND V13 but with 8 Dbi Antennas, do you think it´s possible to use your build on it?

Thanks,
Jonas

Hello @jalmeida1008 .

No, you can´t. Your router is not officially supported by Openwrt.
Even the hardware being the same, the flash layout could be different and flash a wrong firmware can brick your router.

You can try to ask developers or someone that had enough experience try to include your router.

Hello!

A new driver was released just now!
For the first 30 minutes, on a heavy load, it seems much better than previously build.

It is on my pCloud, as always...

P.S.:
Many thanks for @nbd168 and @LorenzoBianconi , the main developers of opensoruce drivers.

Hello julianocs, First of all thank you for support and keep update the firmware for our router.

I try to find a guide how to install the OpenWrt firmware that you give to us from your pcloud link to my router but cant find something, is there any guide to install it and see if helps the unstable wifi and speed drops?

Hope to answer me with something good!

New image built from trunk some days ago (about 1 week) and tested since then. I think it can be said it's working now, at least the basic functions do work. I didn't tried any fancy things ass multiple ssid, etc, but both laptop and android cell phone are working quite well.
