Time based client isolation of ethernet client from wireless clients

is it possible to isloate an ethernet client

from

wireless clients

based on time, for example (12am to 6am)

after 6am, they all can be friends again

I know there is a way to isolate wireless clients from each other, was hoping there was a easy way to make a firewall rule to accomplish this

thanks

Technically, yes - but it's complicated and a question of how far you want to go (there are different approaches, with their own unique features and drawbacks), as well as the capabilities (performance) of your router.

i think i get what you mean, i dont want to have a custom script and/or write to uci (memory) over and over, diminishing the life/performance of the router,
was hoping for a straightforward firewall rule, based on time, without having to create a vlan,

thanks for shining some light on this

There is no trivial answer, it all depends on the details - where you are intercepting, the (relevant part of the) network topology, what blocking is really meant to mean in context, how tech savvy your peers are, the associated physical security...

Ethernet is a network of peers, you can't really isolate peers from each other unless you are in the middle and have the performance to filter (or physically cut the connection) - and there are easy ways to hide the real identity and make the isolation fail.
