Hello,
I'm hoping this is the right section of the forum for this question.
I'm moving from using a 4G dongle to Starlink for internet access. My current setup uses a Pi4 Connected over Ethernet to a TPLink TL-SG608E switch. With the 4G I was using a USB dongle connected to the Pi with the Interface for the dongle being in the WAN zone.
For Starlink I have set up a VLAN on the single ethernet port on the Pi (Eth0.20) and am using VLAN 1 for my LAN network. I've set up the VLANs on the switch and everything works fine connectivity wise. However I am only getting 30-50mbps speedtests over the network vs 150 - 250mbps direct on the Starlink WiFi/Ethernet.
Is this a hardware throughput issue with the Pi or Switch handling the VLANing? I've tested the ethernet cables I'm using with a direct connection from the starlink router to my laptop the both achieve full speeds. I've also tried putting the starlink router into bypass mode but it makes only 5-10mbps of difference.
Anyone have any thoughts where the issue might be and how to resolve it? Happy to post configs if needed, just let me know.
Cheers,
David
