This topic was automatically closed 10 days after the last reply. New replies are no longer allowed.
If I want to post something related to the same matter of an existing topic a bit later, then I have to recreate the same topic again.
What is the idea behind this automatically close of threads? I don't see any benefits in it, only disadvantages.
If you are referring to this, you declared it as solved and thanked everyone. Therefore it is closed after 10 days automatically.
Should you need to add something, I guess you can edit the last post and add it.
Digging up old topics and sending notifications to all users involved for something that everyone has already long forgotten and would need to read everything from the start to remember.
See How to mark a topic as [Solved] for some reasons to close a topic.
In addition to this: With topics not being closed, they will accumulate more and more postings. Who will read 800 postings (with 5 not marked solutions in it)? Correct, nobody, and there you have postings 801. And 802....
With topics being closed, topics stay slim and readable, do not accumulate endless postings, and the solution is shown below the first posting for easy finding.
