I miss seeing the compile date when looking at snapshots.

Just saying...

It seems that the firmware selector not function, no version can be select, even no response when type in the model. :smiling_face_with_tear:

Instead of files

openwrt-mediatek-filogic-xiaomi_mi-router-ax3000t-ubootmod-preloader.bin
openwrt-mediatek-filogic-xiaomi_mi-router-ax3000t-ubootmod-bl31-uboot.fip

it downloads text files of 146 bytes in size, which contain the following text:

404 Not Found
------------------------------------
nginx

It would be a shame to kill your router with such jokes, it would be better not to download anything at all((((.

Yes. I saw the same behavior and got it working by opening a new Private browser window. But when selecting the device (only supported in SNAPSHOT) it says Unsupported Branch SNAPSHOTS, eventually, in reply in red, instead of showing the usual STIN etc. in green.

Same here.

X86 build on new 23.05.05 is broken. Had to recover from fresh install. Missing nic drivers?

firmware builder doesn't include filogic soc-firmware (ex. kmod-mt7981-firmware) or wo-firmware (ex. mt7981-wo-firmware) in custom builds. This renders wifi not usable.

The package list is still missing the required kernel firmware, modules, and specific components for the build target. Whether clearing cookies and cache, using several other browsers or workstations to launch the firmware selector, the contents list is still incomplete regardless of whether the target is SNAPSHOT all the way down to the oldest releases.

  • This means an unknowing user could install a previous version - and experience this new issue
  • Some users posting these days mention they don't have Ethernet, a sysupgrade could definitely soft brick their devices

Anyone mention this to @aparcar ?

It's an issue specific with the firmware selector since the device packages are in the JSON responses, but they're not parsed correctly I guess. I also wrote about this at OpenWrt 23.05.5 - Service Release - #55 by dannil. Note the missing device packages in the list.

Yes, I saw your post shortly after mine here. Only those using the Firmware Selector to upgrade to 23.05.5 were affected (but we now know that anyone attempting to use any version as of now will be affected). You also noted:

I would think a developer needs to be urgently informed.

I agree, we should also spread the knowledge that using the firmware selector atm is highly discouraged. I have a hunch we'll have a flood of posts here in the coming days about this...

I've created https://github.com/openwrt/firmware-selector-openwrt-org/issues/42 to try and get some traction on it.

need to disable firmware-selector.openwrt.org until they fix it
the crash is not only on version 23.05.5, the crash is on all versions

Unsupported branch: SNAPSHOTS

What does it mean now?

Edit: This is what I got AFTER cleared the cache of firmware selector.

That's a typo and you could overcome it by yourself.

Workaround:

  1. Open a browser's developer console (press F12).
  2. Find the first element in the versions selector:
  3. Change its value and caption to "SNAPSHOT" (i.e. change both "SNAPSHOTS" to "SNAPSHOT").
  4. Go back to the page, do not refresh it and request a build.
  5. ... observe another error: "Error: Received incorrect version XXX (requested YYY)" which cannot be fixed by ourselves.

I have opened a new issue: https://github.com/openwrt/firmware-selector-openwrt-org/issues/45
Hope it will be fixed soon.

This looks to be fixed now for the devices I've checked but verify the package list manually just in case when downloading the images.

Just tried your way, also stuck at step 5, guess I will have to wait for the proper fixes.

(Just FYI - it was already fixed - at the time of your posting)

See:

For those who are waiting "Error: Received incorrect version XXX (requested YYY)" to be fixed. I have just tried building a firmware for Banana BPI-R4 and it succeeded. Building for Xiaomi Mi Router AX3000T still fails.
You might also try with your model.
