The future of luci-compat / rewriting packages / adding packages to the repo

Hi,
Are there any plans to end the life of the luci-compat package? As we know Luci has been rewritten, but there are still many packages that were written "the old way" and are useful to users. Will luci-compat stay forever? I haven't currently seen any tutorial explaining how to write packages under the "new Luci", are there any plans for such a tutorial, instructions?

Is there any support for rewriting the package(s) if they would be useful and could make it to the repo?

Thank you for your interest in the topic.
Best regards

I can't speak for the future of luci-compat, but I've had questions on transitioning to js and there's a lot of good information contributed by @dibdot and @jow in this issue: https://github.com/openwrt/luci/issues/4813.

You can also peruse the changes in PR for the client-side transitioning for luci-app-vpnbypass.

Hi,
Thanks @stangri for the answer, I just somehow understood how old Luci works, and I have to learn from scratch the new one, we'll see what comes out of it.

I hope someone else will respond to the topic.
