I was trying to install the latest firmware and got this warning:
The device is supported, but the config is incompatible to the new image (1.0->1.1). Please upgrade without keeping config (sysupgrade -n). upgrade: Config cannot be migrated from swconfig to DSA Image check failed.
I would like to avoid upgrading without being able to keep the configuration. Is this an issue that might be resolved with a future firmware version, so I can just wait?
No, the DSA migration is one-time thing, and no automatic migration will happen.
Waiting will not help.
Note that the config incompatibility mainly concern /etc/config/network and system.
Most other config files are ok, but may need verification that e.g. wan interface name is right.
So, the docs on this to me are not very clear. They go in-depth on how to configure vlans. But what if I haven't really configured a vlan? All my switch interfaces are on a single vlan and all ports are untagged, and i have no filtering on my br-lan interface. I think there will be a decently large group of users that doesn't really understand/nor use VLAN tagging and filtering. So are there any simple instructions on how to upgrade to the new config? Just a "if you want the newest firmware, you have to redo your full openwrt configuration from scratch" is a little unsatisfactory, and probably means a large group of people will never upgrade their openwrt installation.
